Since the founding of the Spanish Society of Archaeometry Applied to the Cultural Heritage (SAPaC) in 1997, the growing interest in archaeometry has crystallized in the biennial celebration of the Iberian Congress of Archaeometry, with the goal of promoting a space for research groups in the Iberian Peninsula to meet and discuss.
The Spanish Society of Archaeometry Applied to the Cultural Heritage (SAPaC) together with the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH) will organize the 13th Iberian Congress of Archaeometry with the following goals:
- To present the main results of their archaeometric research projects conducted within the Iberian Peninsula.
- To share experiences amongst researchers of different disciplines in the field of archaeometry and to foster collaboration and the creation of interdisciplinary groups to study the cultural heritage.
- To spread amongst the scientific, academic, business and administration community the research works and activities being carried out in this vast field of study, as well as their practical applications.
- To show the Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS) as key infrastructures for the advancement of the archaeometric studies conducted by the scientific and R&D+Innovation communities.
